The James Beard Foundation has announced its 2023 list of award semifinalists — the food equivalent of the Oscars, and there a quite a few Oregon and Washington names on this list. Among the best chef nominees are Crystal Platt from Eugene's Lion & Owl and Jonathan Jones from Salem's Epilogue Kitchen & Cocktails. McMinville's ōkta also made the list.
